There is something about sitting around a table, that creates a domestic atmosphere. When we eat, we’re vulnerable, we’re open. Something shifts around a table.
Food connects on several layers; social, cultural, and emotional. This project uses food as a medium to bring out all three.
The food is made with local ingredients and recipes inspired by neighborhood restaurants that have already closed, things I like, dishes I’ve gathered throughout my travels to around 50 countries, fragments of local cuisines, alongside techniques I’m drawn to, mostly from Mexico, Peru, and Japan.
